The Newcastle Parent Teacher Corporation (Newcastle PTC) is a volunteer-run non-profit serving Newcastle Elementary and Newcastle Charter School’s K-8th grade students. The PTC provides enhanced funding and coordinates the support/volunteers for a number of programs and events at the school and within the school community. The NECS board and volunteer team is passionate about focused fundraising to ensure that the NECS student body, teachers, parents, and staff continue to be provided with enrichments that foster the safe and fun learning experiences that makes it such a great school.

Last year the PTC was successful in raising over $35,000.00 to enhance our students’ learning experience and directly support NECS classrooms. The PTC minimizes the ‘ask’ of parents, by holding a couple of large, focused fundraisers throughout the year, and spending more of our time giving back!

The PTC raised funds have provided support for students and educators including but not limited to: field trips, classroom enrichment, special assemblies, playground equipment, information technology, campus improvement, as well as important social events such as Her Knight and His Knight, End of Year BBQ for the entire student body, supplement for the 8th Grade Dinner Dance and teacher appreciation events. Upcoming Events!

The Newcastle PTC Annual Budget is proposed, discussed, and approved by vote during board meetings leading up to and including the final budget meeting in May, during which the budget for the following school year is determined.  Parents, teachers, staff and community members are welcome to attend PTC Board Meetings.  Those interested in presenting at a meeting may request to be on the meeting agenda, or may speak briefly off the agenda toward the end of a meeting during New Business.

The Newcastle PTC Annual Budget allocates, when possible, for fund requests that may be received throughout the year.  Once submitted, these post-budget fund requests are discussed and voted on at the next PTC meeting.  If the request is found to be in accordance with the Newcastle PTC objectives, as outlined in the bylaws, and there are funds available within the budget guidelines, the PTC may be able to provide the funding.

To request funds, please fill out the FUND REQUEST FORM  available for download at the bottom of this page.  Please note, when applicable, the request must be signed by the school principal, Mr.Cory, before submitting to the PTC.

Statement Regarding Field Trip Fund Requests

In light of the recent changes regarding traditional overnight field trips for Newcastle Elementary and Charter School students, the Newcastle PTC received a fund request by the coordinator of a parent led overnight field trip to help subsidize several students in need.  The field trip already had over 75% of the grade committed to attend. The PTC voted to approve this request, as it fell within our bylaw objectives of "providing charitable assistance to the students, parents and teachers of Newcastle Elementary School District and the Newcastle Community" and "to enhance the educational experiences for all students by providing support, funds and labor benefiting the school and community."

As these field trips have historically been a part of the educational experience at Newcastle School, the Newcastle PTC voted to provide assistance this year so the students did not miss out on valuable enrichment while the Newcastle School Board, along with parents, work to shape how these trips will be handled in upcoming years.

This action is specific to this year given the recent changes and immediate timelines.  This in no way sets a funding precedent for future years when planning time will not be of issue.

Additionally, as a non-profit, The Newcastle PTC can make available several fundraising opportunities to student groups that wish to raise funds for specific events or trips.  Please email to find out how the Newcastle PTC can be of support in this way!
