Grab your neon and get ready for some glow dodgeball.  January 12th, 2024 @ 5:30 p.m

This event was formally known as mother-son night. Out of respect for parent and guardian family dynamics, each entry includes a male student and the Knight in their life.

VOLUNTEER AND FOOD SIGN-UPS

We are looking for Volunteers to help run the event or snack donations. Look out for the sign-up soon!

CHECK-IN, WAIVERS & TICKETS:

For liability reasons, complete waivers are required. Please stop at the check-in table to read and sign waivers needed to participate in the event. Wristbands will be given once waivers are completed- these are required to participate in dodgeball only. Tickets are not required. Entry includes a male Knight and their chaperone. A $5 donation towards to event is suggested but not required. We appreciate your support!

GAMES

Welcome to Glow Dodegball! Each student can take part in 2 games.  (Chaperones with multiple children may play multiple rounds) Based on time there may be extra. All matches will be played among the following age groupings: TK/K, 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th.  The first set of games will be chaperones and their knights split into two groups. The second set of games will be Chaperones vs Kights of the same age group.

RULES

At game start, each team places their hands on the opposing walls.  Dodgeballs are lined up on the mid-court line. Players may never cross this line or are immediately out. At the whistle, players grab the balls.  If you get hit out of the air (not from a bounce), or someone catches the ball you throw, you are out. You are also immediately out if you hit someone in the face. We are looking for great sportsmanship!

Out players will line up on the sidelines. You can return to the game if someone on your team catches a ball (1st person out is the 1st person in, so try to stay in order.) Due to time constraints, this will only be allowed a limited number of times.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

While we encourage everyone to watch games and cheer, we know dodgeball isn't for everyone!

We will have a game zone in the hall outside the gym with yard games, and board games. Enjoy a slice of pizza, and a snack, take advantage of the FREE photo booth with props, and so much more!

We love our school, and our Knights, and trust that everyone will show good sportsmanship.  Thank you for being part of this event, and our school!

2nd Annual  Color Run

2023 Knights Color Run

Annual Knights Read-A-Thon- Kick raised over $15,000

Our Knights Read A Thon is a community-building fundraising event involving the participation of the entire student body. Students are sponsored by friends, family, and businesses for their participation. A safe and fun way to grow your imagination all while raising funds and building school community!

Proceeds are budgeted and distributed to items such as playground improvements, recess equipment, special assemblies, teacher “wish list” requests, after-school clubs, social event traditions, campus improvements, and so much more. Please visit www.ptcnewcastle.org /distribution for a detailed overview.

Our main goal this year is to provide a shaded getaway for students. Covered seating around campus is sure to add a great space to sit with a good book!

Obstacle Fun Run

The Fun Run was PTC’s main fundraising event of the year.  It is lucrative and community-building within our school as it involves the participation of the entire student body. Leading up to the Fun Run, students procure sponsorships from friends, family, and businesses for their participation in an Obstacle Course.   Held on lower campus during the school day, class-by-class students run the course, including inflatables, tires, tubes, and more. The students and spectators have a blast while raising funds and building the school community!  The 2019 Fun Run was held on October 18th.  The event raised over $32,000.00. The Newcastle PTC has not transitioned to the Annual Color Run in leui of the Fun Run.

PTC Co-Sponsored Events

Annual Scholastic Book Fair

The yearly Scholastic Book Fair is held in the fall each year. Initial planning is done by NECS staff and the school library. PTC offers volunteer staffing for set up, the week of the fair, and clean up.

In 2023 we raised $7000 for our school and individual classroom libraries. We couldn't do it without the support of our Knigth Families!
